PROJECT: Grading, Deck Install, and Landscaping
LOCATION: Hall County
EXISTING CONDITION: The grading outside this home was too steep, and not only were they lacking a deck from which to view Lake Lanier, but they also lacked direct access to the backyard.
CUSTOMER'S REQUEST: The customer not only wanted the entire lot re-graded so that the lake would cause less property erosion, but they also wanted a level backyard where their children could play. In addition, they wanted access to the backyard through their home, which would also include the installation of a deck.
PROCESS: We brought the existing bank into code compliance by installing both netting and juniper bushes, and we also re-graded the backyard so that it would not only allow for entertainment, but easier access from within the home. We created an enclosed access point in the basement's crawl space block wall, and we also removed one window so that a new door in the foyer could connect the deck to the stairs at the back of the property.
To finish the project, we installed a deck porch light and seeded/strawed the entire property in an effort to reduce costs.
The customer could not have been more thrilled.
